PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 5 May 2026
This privacy notice explains how Clair Neill Therapy Ltd ("I", "me", "my") handles your personal information when you visit clairneill.com or get in touch with me.
Who I am
I am Clair Neill, a BACP-accredited psychotherapist based in Cranleigh, Surrey, trading as Clair Neill Therapy Ltd. I am the data controller for the personal information collected via this website. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration number: ZA328069).
You can reach me at clair@clairneill.com.
What information I collect
When you use this website, I may collect:
Information you submit through the contact form: your name, email address, and any details you choose to share about what brings you here.
Information you submit when booking a free consultation through Acuity Scheduling: your name, email address, and the appointment time you select.
Standard technical information your browser sends when you visit the site (IP address, browser type, pages visited), used by Squarespace to operate the site.
I do not collect any information about you unless you actively submit it through the contact form or booking system, or browse the site.
Why I collect it (lawful basis)
Under UK GDPR, I rely on the following lawful bases:
Consent — when you fill out the contact form or book a consultation, you give consent for me to use the information you submit to respond to you.
Legitimate interest — for technical site operation and security via Squarespace.
I do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than responding to you and arranging therapy where appropriate.
How long I keep it
Contact form submissions: up to 12 months from our last contact, then deleted unless we go on to work together.
Booking information held in Acuity: kept for the duration of our therapeutic work, plus retention periods that apply to therapeutic records (typically up to 7 years following the end of therapy, in line with professional retention guidance).
If we go on to work together, separate clinical record-keeping arrangements apply, which I will explain at our first session.
Who I share it with
Your information is held by:
Squarespace — provides the website and form infrastructure
Acuity Scheduling (a Squarespace product) — handles bookings
Google Workspace — handles my email correspondence with you
These providers act as data processors on my behalf. Their privacy policies are available on their websites. They may transfer data to servers in the United States, where appropriate safeguards (including Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.
I do not sell your information or share it with marketing companies.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
Ask what information I hold about you
Ask me to correct anything that's wrong
Ask me to delete your information (where possible — clinical records are bound by professional retention requirements)
Object to my processing of your information
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
To exercise any of these rights, email me at clair@clairneill.com.
